NEW MAGAZINE TO SHOWCASE TRANSFORMING CHURCH INITIATIVES
26 May 2010
Birmingham Diocese has launched a magazine to highlight the impact of its new mission strategy, Transforming Church and share the good news of what churches are doing in the region.
‘Transform’ rolled off the press at the end of May and is being distributed to every church in Birmingham Diocese. The second edition is expected to hit the pews in September.
As well of stories of mission, regeneration and discipleship from across the Birmingham Diocese the magazine contains stories of links with world mission partners, particularly from Malawi, which is twinned with the Diocese.
It is hoped the magazine will boost communications in the Diocese and help churchgoers find out about courses, training and resources on offer to them. The Bishops’ scrapbook pages will record some of the engagements and visits made by both the Bishop of Birmingham and the Bishop of Aston.
In the introduction to the magazine, Bishop David, Bishop of Birmingham said: “The stories that are being told are just a snapshot of all that is happening around the Diocese. Stories of transformation, hope and grace that give us a glimpse of what happens when followers of Jesus Christ get excited about living like Jesus Christ.”
Bishop Andrew, Bishop of Aston said: “Transforming Churches involves every church, every community and every Christian in this Diocese as we seek to grow healthy churches at the heart of every neighbourhood.
“I hope this magazine will spread the excitement and vision of Transforming Church by sharing the good news of what God is doing in and around Birmingham, Solihull, Sandwell and Sutton Coldfield.”
You can read the magazine online here or find a copy in your local parish church.
