Places to visit

Birmingham Cathedral
The Cathedral  is open and staffed every day of the year, welcoming all who come to pray, pause awhile, admire the internationally-famous stained-glass windows by Sir Edward Burne-Jones, enjoy the Cathedral's music, or join us for worship or one of the many other activities that take place here.

Iona Community
The Iona Community are committed to new ways of living the gospel of Jesus Christ in the 21st Century.  Visitors are welcome to visit the community on the Scottish Island of Iona.

Greenbelt
Youth festival, music festival, political festival, evangelical festival, development festival, broke festival, harvest festival… there’s something in all these myths about Greenbelt that is accurate, but nothing entirely true.

Anglican Communion
The Diocese of Birmingham, within the Province of Canterbury, in the Church of England, is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

Archbishop of Canterbury

Church Army
The Church Army has been at the heart of evangelism within the Church of England since 1882 when Prebendary Wilson Carlile, a young curate at St. Mary Abbots, Kensington, founded the Church Army to take the Gospel to all, but particularly those suffering the injustices of the age. This has been the Church Army's goal ever since.

Church Commissioners

The Church of England Children's Society works with over 50,000 of England's most vulnerable children each year, helping them face life's harshest challenges with confidence.

Christian Aid
An agency of the churches in the UK and Ireland, Christian Aid works wherever the need is greatest, irrespective of religion.

Church Housing Trust
Church Housing Trust is committed to changing the lives of homeless people and raises funds to support the work of over 70 projects throughout England, including hostels and women’s refuges.  Specialist help is given to young people; the ex Services; vulnerable young parents and children; people with drug, alcohol and mental health problems, and ex offenders. 

Church Urban Fund
The C.U.F. was established in 1988 in response to the growing poverty in towns and cities throughout England. Its mission is to support practical action for justice in disadvantaged and marginalised communities.

Feed the Minds
Feed the Minds brings books and literacy materials to the peoples of the developing world and Eastern Europe, yet it does not produce any materials itself. Churchcare
Invaluable information from the Church of England and Ecclesiastical Insurance Group for all those involved in developing and maintaining church buildings.

Churches Conservation Trust
The CCT cares for more than 300 glorious historic churches which are no longer used for regular worship. All are places to visit. They are listed by county an a Church Gazetteer, and 50 have been selected for a Featured Churches section.

Churches Tourism Association
CTA is ecumenical; it networks those who open their church building for visitors. It represents Church Tourism to government, media and church. It makes available to others the good practice of its members.

Open Churches' Trust
The Open Churches Trust was founded by Andrew Lloyd Webber in July 1994. The purpose of the Trust is to promote by every means possible the opening of locked places of worship to enable those who need a haven for peace, solace and prayer, and those who like to visit, access. Everyone would prefer all our churches to be open all the time but burglary, arson and vandalism has forced many to be kept locked between services. The Open Churches Trust has found huge support for opening such churches.
