The Bishop's Youth Council
Young people also have an important role in the structures of the Dioceses. The Bishop’s Youth Council is made up of more than twenty young people – two or more from each deanery (a deanery is geographical grouping of parishes) – who have regular meetings with the Bishop to discuss issues, policies and advise the Bishop on issues in the diocese. The Bishop’s Youth Council also represent the young people in each deanery, impacting the way the diocese works and bringing issues which are important to young people in the deaneries to the Bishop and a higher level than local Churches.

Youth workers
The Diocese offers various training courses for youth workers. For an introduction to youth work we run a seven modular training course for people wanting to work with young people in a church setting or from a Christian project. The Bishop’s Certificate in Youth Work will include topics such as working with young people in church, working with excluded young people, substance abuse and health and safety issues. For more information see http://www.b-cent.com/bcym.

The Active Network http://www.b-cent.com/active brings youthworkers together for mutual support, relaxation and resourcing and the Youth Ministry department can run tailor-made courses on issues such as drugs, worship, schools and detached youth work.
